Default Help identify a part

my left wheel when you turn makes a knock or when you go over a bump. My friend (who has owned multiple 944s and has a 968 rs) said it's the strut pin on the a arm.
Now what pin is he talking about?
He shook the wheel hard and heard/felt it knock.

Hi Paulyy, your friend could be referring to the ball joint on the control arm. I believe that they can knock and make noise when going over bumps if the bushing inside goes bad.

if he shook the wheel and felt it on the ground its more likely a ball joint

Most likely the ball joint on the wishbone at the base of the strut. You can buy a replacement kit from the States for about $200AUS for a pair. Pretty simple to replace.

Agree with the above, just want to add that the top Strut Bushing is a solid rubber donut, ... they don't look so good after 25+ years ether.

I'll have a look at this when i change out the old struts to my KWs
