The car still is not mechanically finished, but maybe it's time for a tiny little update:

a bunch of goodies from Antti from 9xx-parts (engine and trans mounts).
I really appreciate how quickly the order was at my door, and how well packed it was. Not to mention a few nice promo goodies.

...And I sort of accidentally started gathering some carbon panels for a flat floor or whatever i will feel like doing (i simply found some on the interwebs for a bargain):

and some more coal:

I can't wait either ... but everything is progressing so slow.

either way - i've been at my builder's today, sent him some last few missing tiny bits and pieces (balance shaft bearings and such), and made a few photos of my shortblock. I have never before seen it so clean.. it used to be all greasy and dirty..

Bad news is - for some reason my carbon hood acquired two "milky" spots.. like the epoxy or paint lost opacity.. or like the structure got moist or something - no idea why.. Got no pictured of that thogh.

The whole thing is progressing in a snail pace, but there are things going on.
I have ordered full KW ClubSport 4x coilover suspension, and wait fro it - PCCB brakes all-round. Can't wait to see how it'll work.

In the meantime - The current state of the build is a bit of an eye candy
(yes the tensioner slides will be swapped for brand new ones before final assembly):

Thank you!

Below a few bits and pieces ready for soda blasting and blingbling transformation similar to the engine
I've asked my engine builder, and yes - engine parts were cleaned, and then coated with something which' name i don't remember.

The coilovers are redy for assembly, but the rear ones lay on a cardboard box.. a box with my long awaited heated windscreen

On the next pictures - a few elements i got today from soda blasting, and the end result of the bling treatment we've got them through

Today's my 30th birthday... out of boredom, and since my daily driver broke yesterday after driving over a ridiculously deep dent in the road, I started this day off designing the livery for my 951 racecar. I've been making the thought of a retro-themed livery for a long time, there were a few "finalists" to which way to go, and mostly because of it's rarity and unique beauty I chose to go with Loewenbrau beer theme. So - below is what I came up with as for adapting it from Holbert's 962 into the lines of our little 944s.. (with all the little tweaks i have on mine - carbon hood, vents, 968 wing, oz wheels etc)..

(The photo I based on is not mine, and I take no credit for it. It's found on google, and if you are the author and you have anything against, please contact me, and I will act as soon as possible)

What do you guys think?

Thanks Patrick!

Another few bits and pieces arrived today..

- 70mm throttle body
- Intercooler (Core dimensions 600mm x 300mm x 76mm / ~24"x12"x3" )
- bosh 044 fuel pump
- basalt thermal insulation tape (rated 1400'C)

The car behind the IC belongs to my friend and it's only to easily visualize IC's real size. It should easily fit with a few simple tricks.
Yes, the Intercooler is powdercoated white.

Was the finned section of the core masked off during powder coating? Due to the size of the intercooler its probably not too much to worry about, unless the powder coater concentrated on getting good penetration into the fins.

Nope, it's coated white as well, however now that you mentioned it, I took a closer look and they coated only about 1cm of depth inside the fins. The middle of the core is practically unsprayed, which is good i suppose - it doesn't compromise cooling that much, yet from every observable angle the intercooler is nicely white unless you look from no distance at all, and you focus just to see whether it's painted there or not...

Any pictures of the Holset setup yet? Curious to see what hotside you go with and how you handle the crossover. Twin scroll?

I will use stock 944s four-to-two exhaust manifold, then two pipes for a completely separated twinscroll setup with two small wastegates, and a 3 or 3.5" back exhaust with a big but free flowing absorption muffler..

I cannot show the setup yet, cause it's not built yet, but in a few weeks I should start and do at least the prototype..
