Werk was great to deal with, great communication and the shipping was pretty quick considering it was international. I went with the premium cloth, they ended up giving me a 15% discount to take an extra yard (it was the last of their inventory at that point in time), so it was 113 euro per yard, shipping was 37 euro. I did the centers because I prefer the look, though I imagine it's probably not a bad idea from a wear perspective. I've got enough cloth left over to do the door cards, trying to figure out if I'm going to go to a component speaker up front prior to doing it, though.

New tires coming in early next week. Will drive it for a couple of weeks to make sure everything is good, then probably throw it on the dyno again mid December. Not expecting much, wont be dyno'ing more than 16lbs and the butt dyno makes it feel like that's when this turbo is just getting started.

Beautiful car and build. I'm looking forward to seeing some additional pictures once complete.

Not surprised to hear there's another 211 E55 owner on here, lot of bang for the buck similar to the 951. Flying up to South Carolina next month to pick up a '97 Land Cruiser, hoping that will lighten the wagon's workload a bit (and allow me to tow my karts with out borrowing the wife's SUV)... willing to bet there are probably some 80 series owners on here as well.
Edit: FYI slownrusty, love that 951 you picked up. Great looking car.

Thank-you! I appreciate it.
I've seen your posts on the MBWorld W211 AMG forums too, small world. I'm also slownrusty on there too.

Wow..car looks awesome! Glad its back home, I bet you're excited to put some miles on it and stretch those long (athletic) legs.
My E55 has the stage 2 Kleemann package that I had installed at their facility in Colorado Springs, which is their 168mm pulley, ceramic coated mid-length headers, remove the primary cats and re-program the ECU to support the mods. Its about 100hp / 100ft/lbs over stock. I also have the STAR DAS and lowered the car at home and had HRE lace up some new wheels, the only other mod is a CLK63 Black Series steering wheel and light weight battery in the trunk with a mount that I made at home.

Definitely good to have it back home. Very nice on the e55; I've got the kleeman headers sitting in my garage. Also have a PLM exchanger, renntech lowering module and bought eurocharged Ecu/tcu tunes during a sale a couple months ago but I've since decided I won't use the Ecu tune... have been debating whether or not to Install everything on the wagon, something to be said for keeping the dd stock ... if I do I'll pull the trigger on the same 168 crank and tune you've got. I've been for a ride in a local K2 wagon and a local K2 sl55 and they're very impressive.

I certainly can speak to how awesome the K2 package is and reliable too, its been on my car since 2009! Depending on the road and tire temperatures my car will easily spin the tires when accelerating whilst rolling
My approach is be smart and not get too greedy with over-modding the car, and you will have an awesome car that benefits from well chosen mods but never sacrifices the factory reliability (things you already know).
I kick myself for not installing the K3 package when the car was at Kleemann but was short on funds at the time..oh well!

Car has been running great and is now corner balanced. Turns out it was 150lbs light in the front left and 150lbs light in the right rear ... ride height was also brought up a bit. It's a porker at 3k lbs with 1/2 tank of gas. Also put some spacers on the rear since the 255 section tires on 10" rims weren't exactly filling out the wheel well. Hopefully will have time to throw it on a dyno in the next 4-6 weeks.
Bad news is the rear hatch is starting to delaminate ... doh
Next steps with this car ... continue gathering parts for either a 2.8 or 3.0 build, most likely staying 8 valve. Also thinking about picking up a pair of these recaros and re-finishing them with the silver rose fabric in the centers (same style as the sport seats I just did). Couple those with a half cage.
