Agreed. A friend runs a 3L 8V turbo engine in his 924S and the lower weight makes a big difference.

I have wanted to do this for a while as my first car was an 87 924S. Still have it.

About two years ago I went to buy a motor out of an 86 951 with a bad clutch, ended up buying the whole car lol

I had no idea so many people have done it

Raceboy mentions transplanting into a first gen 924... wouldn't that be lighter still? Any gotchas there or is it the same difficulty as a 924S? I had a 77.5 924 that had gremlins in the electrical system but when it ran it was great!

924NA needs to have its crossmember modifed to accept 944 engine mounts (2liter engines mount onto frame rails not cross-member).
Also there is no hydraulic clutch (needs to be converted) so it is quite a bit more difficult.
