While moving it around to try and reconnect to a vacuum line, I pulled it out!

Where does the small black line go into?

Either The heater core at the firewall wall or the heater control valve. That's all that's back there.

I can't see/feel anything that this thing plugs into.

If you follow the black line you can see where it goes.

Frustrated!

The black line connects to a "T" on a vacuum/boost line coming off the intake manifold. This line applies vacuum to the vacuum reservoir tank and the blue/black check valve insures no that boost enters the reservoir.

I put the line back in with the same orientation as in the original pic and the black end terminates about 3 inches from the tip of my finger underneath the large black bellowed hose.

The end of that black line is shiny like it had been pulled out of something.

It ties into the firewall. There are 2 ports on the firewall. I can confirm tonight when I get home..........note I am extremely sleepy right now so there is a slight chance I am wrong

Correct... The shiny portion or 'witness mark' on the end of the hard plastic line proves that it pulled out. Look for a rubber elbow or a rubber Y connector in the area that you are pointing at.

Should be similar to this...

That is what I figured but I can't see anything. That line and check valve are for the HVAC System correct?

Ya I think it goes to a 3-way rubber connection stock where one end goes to the instake and the other to the firewall port. I'm just scrolling through the 1000 plus pics I have to see if I can find a pic. I'm sure I have one.
