Default Complete S2 Head - $850

Still have a nice S2 Head left over from some other parts I was selling. This head is complete including valve cover and cam gear and it is all in very good shape. The exception is the front and rear cam covers have some damage. The front cover is not usable but the rear is. Cams are in good shape with no broken teeth.

Asking $850 plus shipping. Shipping will be in 2 separate boxes, recently learned my lesson on this. I will also be going to the Fest this year and can bring it with me.

Not to high jack you thread. If you do ship this head then get insurance for the whole price as if it was new from Porsche. Just had UPS drop my 8V 2.7l cylinder head on the water port. The gentleman that sold and sent it to me has put up a good fight and had UPS compensate $125. Don't think it will cover the damage they did. See for yourselves.

That damage can be easily repaired by a competent machine shop. The hose and the air valve are bolt on pieces, and the minor chip out of the casting is a simple weld and machine fix. Fifty bucks or less should do it.

That's some very amateur packing to damage a head, the goose neck is cheap a couple of dollars the nick at the water jacket is not that bad as long as there are not cracks. People ships heavy stuff loose inside a box with just peanuts and news paper. I have yet to receive a complaint from a damaged item wether a head or a block or a transmission.

I always ship my items packed tightly in high density foam and usually a custom made box from my packaging lab at work. Unfortunately recently had a mishap, but it maybe the last 5 years and 50-75 shipments, if only one ever had a problem, those are good odds.

Somebody buy this!

That damage is so minor, I'd put the $150 in my pocket and run it.

THat head needs to be surfaced anyways before use so the chip is a non-issue.

Although I guess you'd want to triple-check for any cracks if it got dropped.

Ok back to the DOHC for sale. That is a super deal and someone should buy it. Especially if it comes with the cams and cover.

Understood Lart, I know it was not directed to me. Just sharing my experience! Definitely agree, they do get tossed and beat no matter how many fragile or THIS SIDE UP stickers are on it!

Again I will be at the fest to save someone on shipping!

Default Arominus might need some help

I posted in his thread, but maybe you guys can come together on getting him the cam's now, and then purchase the head? I'll let you guys work out any details.

Just trying to help out another 944 owner and seller.
