I understand his position, he loves 951's, but just like this song states, what's love got to do with it. It's a passion, but Lart understands that passionate porsche people spend lots of $$$ for their babies.

Yep sounds like maybe the clutch let go.

come on guys, two drivers, two years, no oil changes, no maintenance, is not the clutch only, but the motor, rollers, belts, etc etc.

Just an FYI...

I picked this car up from the OP, I will be tearing it down over the next few months to diagnose what all needs replacing and deciding a direction for the car.

No it is not for sale. No I am not parting it out.

I'll start a thread when I get going on it

Do my eyes deceive me? Is that a non-sunroof 951 or just the angle?

Just the angle, the red 951 and the Zermatt 951 have sunroofs (although the Zermatt one has never worked since I bought the car lol!) I'll need to start a thread on the Zermatt car as well, had some really bad mechanical engine problems, so something dark and evil is happening
