Brake Caliper Rebuild Question (951 Early Style Calipers)
I ordered the seals from paragon to rebuild my front brakes on my 944 S2. I ordered the later style seals as I was told I have the later style brakes; it turns out I have the early style brakes. Since I have to order the seals, I am trying to at least clean up the calipers a bit and remove the seals. The lower seals are easy to remove but the top seal is very difficult. Is this molded onto the scraper ring? Also has anyone actually removed the scraper rings? They seem impossible to pull out.
Thanks

Getting those scraper rings out is a pain in the ***. The rubber is molded into the metal ring.
Ive used small flat tip screw drivers to carefully pry them out, it took a long time to do. Ive rebuilt a few sets for my friend and ill admit, we found it easier to just buy a later set of calipers with the boots to rebuild. Splitting the halves of the calipers and using a small seal puller is the way to go, but ive often read splitting the halves is not recommended.
