Curious if anyone knows the context of this aero pressure map. I've referenced it in one of my posts & an aerodynamics specialist had a difficult time believing it. There are variables in the testing facilities such as closeness of the walls to the object being tested. This is a very old pressure map & if the testing facilities are anything like the quality of the car being tested, then things have drastically improved. It's probably obsolete. Maybe we give it too much credit?

I use a ducted extractor right behind the radiator that creates its' own low pressure area by sticking up a bit over the height of the hood. I also have vents in the hood as far back as possible to relieve under hood pressure and provide some heat release, should be a great defroster;)

that duct and those fender vents are fantastic...

get some tape and cardboard and you can channel the intercooler/radiator hot air into the cabin for chilly race days

If you take a look at the areal of your intercooler vs the size on the air inntake in the bumper, it is 3/1, and that makes the air go slow true the intercooler, and that cooles bether than a huge hole that makes the air "roll" in front and making the air block the IC.

And it looks bad..

just my 5 cent.

Which car are you referring too?

My .5c is that vented nose panels do no real harm on a street driven car. On a track car, then some hood vents are pretty much a must. Ducting and more precise modeling is better still.

On a standar 951 duct to intercooler.

Ducting to get hot air out is a good thing, as long as it`s placed in the right places.

so get the vented panel for the looks but keep the original IC duct from bumper to IC face..

and then put a moving red light behind the vented panel like KITT or a Cylon.
