Default Blower motor replacement thread

I could have swore I saw one on here somewhere.

Does anyone have a link?

Mine has finally given up the ghost at 106k (sounds like a ghost with all that squealing).

I believe the part number is the same for the Touareg. Can anyone confirm?

They are the same. It's super easy to replace too.

Thanks guys, anyone have the part number handy? Mudman, that $165 price seems better than the VW price actually, cheapest I have seen for that is $200.

Thanks Scotitude, I ended up loosing it and just ordered a new one since they are relatively cheap from ECS, he did say in stock above, but maybe what they had was OEM in stock, not OE, I ordered the OE for 183 bucks since it was cheaper than I guess was the OEM, and paid the two day shipping, but not until I called the following week did they tell me they were not in stock, and I had to wait about 1.5 weeks to get it. Of course I removed the old one to keep my dash from shaking apart!

As everyone has said +1 it is very easy to change, took maybe 15 min to remove, 20 or so to install due to tight space and awkwardness.

BTW, if anyone uses ECS. They had a breach earlier this month I believe and credit card info was stolen from my purchase there, mine was attempted to be used.

Check your card for strange charges.

If I don't what happens? I thought that only controlled the speed correct?

I have not had any speed problems.
