Interesting I thought last year they were trying to hit 500. I will be bringing my Boxster GTS. My 928 took some abuse from a funnel cake explosion someone tried to clean off the hood. Left some deep scratches.

That doesn’t sound good. Hopefully it’ll just buff out. Your 928 is a beauty and it would be a shame if it had to have any paintwork to the hood especially if it’s original paint.

I wasn't pleased. It was an innocent mistake. I didn't consider the possibility of a funnel cake explosion and or people trying to clean it off. I wasn't there but being on the boardwalk the ocean air leaves all sorts of sand and grit so it would have been better if they left it alone. I was able to buff out the scratches but I hate doing it unless I have to.

Interesting older thread on the Early911SRegistry. Photos of the last US Cup #602 (a “port” car) that was one of the 7 reconversion’s done by Andial. Interesting being originally a “port” car after the series cancellation they still sealed the motor (check photo #17). Car only showed 168 miles on the odometer as of 10 years ago. The photos are in the PDF below (not sure the car in the first photo maybe Bob could answer that).

The patina on the car sure looks like much more than 168 miles. It is odd that the car was a port car converted to race spec after the fact.

Number 602 is in Hong Kong last I knew of the car.
I actually had the opportunity to buy 602 but bought from Vasek Polak since they were close to me. Well, it turned out that someone in Texas bought #602 and had it shipped to Andial for a full race conversion. The car was taken to Andial by the Brumos race team and I saw it at the Del Mar IMSA races on their transporter. I could have bought it had it delivered to me at the races, who could have known?
These are the only pictures I have seen of the #602 if it is truly #602. The car has two seats in it and a wooden floor board which to my knowledge was not a Porsche part and both of these additions were not "race spec" but I assume specified by the customer. I suspect Andial had the capacity to provide the lead seals for the engines after the fact.
As for the photo with my name on it, I took that at Andial of one of the cars sitting in their parking lot when they were working on converting the cars. I have no idea what number car it is.

Looks like #602 did go overseas in 2013 or 2014. Was $190k and sold in under an hour apparently. Some threads on here about it.

#585 is for sale again (on BaT twice in 2022 and 2021). A port car that was race converted by an outside party and is one of the higher mileage ones I’ve seen. They are asking $265k OBO.

I’ve seen a few COA’s for these cars and noticed the later issued ones don’t acknowledge the cars as Carrera Cup cars (just as a Carrera 2), but the earlier ones do or display a Carrera Cup option. Also one of them shows an option code “KUP - Carrera Cup Race Car”. Know option code 001 signifies a Cup car, but haven’t seen this other one before.
