LED BULB LIST
Is there a definitive list of bulbs needed to make the switch to LED for exterior bulbs? If the list includes interior bulbs that would be a bonus! I switched the headlights several years ago and have no complaints but my wife was following me recently and said my car was hard to see from the rear in the dark. The Porsche specialist at Pelican parts was no help.

If not aware, note the complications associated with replacing various incandescent bulbs viz relays flashers etc

Some tricks-
I’ve tried a variety of different gauge/interior bulbs and found that the single led bulbs result in terrible bright/dark hot spots. These 3x led bulbs work perfectly if you cover the center led with a dot of black paint. Then the illumination comes only from the side leds and the light is evenly dispersed (and plenty bright)

Be aware that some of the interior sockets (I think the push/pull defrost/fog switches were the only ones) require severing one of the two contacts (pic below for explanation) on each side of these bulbs to work. The tricky sockets have 4x metal contact/prongs: 2x prongs on one side are +12v and the *opposite* side prongs are ground. The led bulb contacts are setup as +12v and ground on the *same* side. So you sever one of the +12v contacts on the and one of the ground contacts on the led bulb. ^Awful explanation, but it’s a simple fix and fairly obvious when you look at it.
**Or the socket is “same” side and bulb is “opposite”, I don’t remember but same result either way.
I can’t remember if there’s a potential of bridging +12v to ground and cooking something in the illumination circuit if you don’t severe the bulb contacts, but carefully meter the socket before turning on the lights for the first time! You could also temporarily slip in a tiny inline fuse.
A load resistor/circuit (I believe Tore sells a clever solution) is required for led brake bulbs on cars with cruise control. Not needed of you don’t have cruise or unplug the cruise ecu.
For the turn signals, a cheap CF13 GL-02 relay works. Some other model relays work too.
All of the other bulbs are plug&play.
