Thaks... I always like it when someone on the 964 board tries something a little different. It opens up ides for futher improvements. ie. 1st it was going for the manual RS steering rack... that morphed into the electric pump in the frunk. You never know what comes of this. I liked the idea of the ignition switch light that some 993's have. It would be great at night to find the key switch hole in the dark... I thin that is why they use such a large bezel..... Ha ha...

I know what you mean !
My ignition bezel was quiete scratched ! I decided to use some old leather from the worn out gear shifter sack and a glue stick to cover !
See attachment ! Not original but at least I don’t need to look at the scratched plastics anymore.

Original bezel. Looked worse than on Pic

Old gear shifter sack

Cutted out bezel

Fixed with glue stick. The advantage is that it can be removed with no remnants !

Half the way

End of story !

The Dashboard leather needs a little polish though !

no problem : the LEDs are a bit shorter ! You need to shorten one leg and solder the resistor to that shorter leg. Make sure you identified + and - correctly !!
the resistor can be stuffed into the old bulb housing , or you open it sidewaYs a bit to get more ‚room‘ for the resistor Or you bend it very close to the old bulb housing !

it should work ! Or you just take some spare bulbs and solder them into the old place ! You can buy them online ! Look for RC model bulbs 12 V if you have trouble finding them somewhere else !
i would use LED because they are more durable and brighter (but not original !).

good luck !

Please, if successful : tell the forum what RC bulbs you found most suitable !

Try all to stay healthy !
