Default Ok I know this is a bad idea but...

I’m thinking about installing knobby m&s tires on my spare set of 16” d90 wheels to have a bit of fun in the snow in my c4.

Any suggestions on tire size? I’d like to max out on sidewall height without needing to monkey with my suspension (KWv3).

thanks!

Just be sure to find tires that are lighter. A lot of all terrain tires, like the BFG KO2s are extremely heavy.

If your just doing snow I think a snow tire will be a better choice. I’m totally jealous btw. We’re getting dumped on and though I love my 84 40 series land cruiser a C4 would be sooo fun on the roads.

You don't need knobbies to have fun with a C4 in the snow. Just a good set of winter snow tires.

Could be fun but you're inviting rust and potential body damage but it's up to you another alternative for cheap fun is to buy a used manual WRX

haha I guess we’re on the same wavelength: I’ve got a Fj cruiser which is a blast in the snow but I keep eying my c4 these days...

Get some quality snow tires and get after it! Just make sure the agreed value insurance is up to date first.

Or just go buy a used ATV for the same price as the tires and have some fun and then sell the ATV in the spring probably for the same price you paid for it......LoL.......

Rust can be repaired. We only have one life to enjoy fun opportunities. “Any time not spent on love is wasted”

You could consider 205/55 front and rear if you’re really planning to cut through some snow. Might want to keep an eye on the load rating for the rear with a 205.

Have fun!

I drive the damn car year round and park it outside in CT. Locked the diffs this morning and drove out of a massive drift, then to the post office. Conti DWS 06....

Always cracks me up that in the Porsche world you are allowed to spend $150,000 chopping up a nice 911 in service of a "safari build" that you will drive approximately never but not allowed to flog a capable stock car thru the winter while maintaining it responsibly...
