Delivered today.
What a trip this has been. From a horrible car destined to be parted to a fully rebuilt, very well equipped specimen, 12 years of fun. The voyage *was* the destination. Since rebuild is finished, not driven more than 1K miles.
The good: perfect looks, working AC (that was an adventure in itself), performance, confort. This forum.
The bad: some insane costs that hang over one's head. Think ABS Brain, ventilation fans, accelerometers. The fear of having a now perfect car damaged.
Sold to finance the next one, a 356A.
Luckily, still not without a 911.
Farewell all.

Farewell George and thanks for sharing the journey. I can empathise with the comments on it being a journey and the lack of use post restoration. If it wasn’t for a dedicated group of local air cooled owners going on road trips I suspect I would be doing the same. The supply of reasonably priced 964s has dried up in my market so I may never get to do another restore. Sad.
