The motor and the car look awesome! Can't wait to get your thoughts once you have driven it for a bit.

Did not opt for the (very expensive) fiberglass shroud as there is very little, if any, weight savings compared to the stock plastic part.
Do you know the weight difference between the two?

That looks super clean. I might have missed it - which headers and muffler do you have on there?

I did not take the time to weight the FG parts before they were shipped off to Phoenix, unfortunately. Not going to be massive but probably between 5 and 10 lbs if I had to guess.

I have a TT Exhaust equal-length system. I have heater boxes as well but going to run without for now.

Default Air filter frame

Looks like it's the Fabspeed one, and it looks pretty sweet.....https://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-964...rmance-airbox/

@revolve40 - your build continues to inspire me. We've chatted on IG about the TT setup, and I ended up purchasing your old Fister/Cup setup. Really appreciate all the help answering questions and posting up the details of your build. Good luck getting it on the road soon!

Jon's got it right - it's Fabspeed's new piece. Still just a piece of metal but looks better than the old plastic one with the fake CF pattern. Happy to have helped in some small way! I still miss the growl I got from that set up!

You might have mentioned it - but looksl ike you're sticking with motronic? I see the trap door on there - any interest in going with a different setup? I've heard (and I believe after holding one in my hand) that it is very restrictive.

I’ve been down the MAF conversion road and prefer the reliability (and drivability) of the stock system with a custom chip from Steve Wong.

It has been discussed in depth on this forum whether the stock AFM is restrictive or not. The camp I subscribe to believes that while an upgrade may increase responsiveness, the power gains aren’t obviously clear.

@revolve40 - any comments about induction noise with the Fabspeed piece? Did you ever run the stock airbox or stock lid drilled out?

It sounds great! I had a stock airbox for a bit before switching over but when I did, I also removed the degrading sound pad so there was a cumulative impact and hard to say which component contributed more to the induction noise heard inside the cabin.

Not bad for a street car. 1/4 tank of gas and 200lbs in driver seat.

Nice work! Do you have what all you did documented somewhere? I’m trying to get to that point myself.

I have an intro/lazy build thread but not very detailed. I’ll try to recall most of the bigger items:

FVD RS-copy bucket seats
AppBiz Sliverknit RS carpet with rear seat and sound deadening removal
Airbag removal
Renown steering wheel
RS window washer reservoir
Manual aero mirrors
RS door cards
RS rear glass / defrost delete
Antigravity lightweight battery
E88 wheels
Numeric shifter (allows for forward shifter rod delete)
Lightweight flywheel
AC delete
Heater box delete
Header system with no cat and light primary muffler
Power steering delete
Sound pad delete
Plastic intake manifold conversion
Fiberglass engine tins
Rear bumper heat shield delete
Lower dash delete
FVD RS-copy aluminum hood
RS intake ducts (fog delete)

I’m likely forgetting many minor weight-saving changes that all add up over time, but I think this is most of it.
