RSA on BaT for under $60K 2 days left- deal?
Hi Is this a deal or am I missing something? Hard to research the VIN on RSAmerica.net but the CARFAX appears legit. Been looking at these around $120K+for a while now. Do I need to sell my '87 Carrera and replace it with this 'upgrade'? Thanks!

The short answer is - if you want to buy anything at any price - you need to be ready.
2 days is an eternity.

I have the twin of this car so I follow any sales that pop up. Personally I am not a black car guy and plan to do a color swap however black RSA’s tend to do well. It’s had some paint work buts it’s mostly intact (ignoring the massacred air box, no idea why it was not swapped out it’s pretty easy) with all the RSA unique parts in place. A few decent suspension upgrades and the underneath is free from additional holes, so no cage or harness mounted to the floor. Even with a couple of unknowns it’s selling for north of $100K probably close to the $120K that you mentioned.

i guess you would have needed to sell your 87 Carrera, your left kidney and your right nut!

Solid money for a car with some miles. Looked like a good example.

Is it true that the ROW RS cannot be registered in CA?

Anything can be done with enough money.
Its a straight forward process to register a RS in CA. It needs to go to G&K auto to be certified as a CARB legal car. The car physically will pass in stock form, but it needs to go through the certification tests. They are the only service center that is approved by the California Air Resource Board to do these tests and certifications. Its not cheap and takes time, so hardly anyone does it. But I think it probably would raise the resale value of the car by at least the cost of the process.

Makes sense. Just wondering if that fuels the desirability of RSAs in CA.
