Default Patina 964 Build

Back with another 964 - '93 Amazon Green 964 C2, classic grey interior, 2 owner, 77k mi, west coast car. Decided to go full boat on this one based on everything I've learned over the years from owning a handful of these cars! Since the car was already in LA, I decided to work with Marlon from Workshop 5001. I met Marlon years ago thru a mutual friend and we've been in touch ever since. He's been a wealth of knowledge about these cars and a big help, but I've never had the opportunity to work with him on a build. His work speaks for itself. We decided to do a full mechanical restoration on the car, with modifications of course, while keeping the paint as is, with a bunch of patina from sitting outside. All of it looking as factory as possible. With that concept in mind, the JL964 build began - The goal was to create something that may have come from the factory back in '93, 964 Carrera "T" or some special edition like that . Here's a quick list of what was done - I'm sure I'm missing some stuff as everything that showed any signs of wear was replaced:

Engine:
o Full rebuild/reseal
o new OEM 964 RS engine mounts
o new OEM engine sound pad
o new OEM RS blower motor delete
o New OEM fuel lines and new OEM FPR
o Cup pipe

Steering:
o Installed freshly Rebuilt 993 Steering Rack, new bushings and rebuilt power steering pump
o New OEM power steering lines

Suspension:
o KW V3’s
o New OEM top mounts
o New OEM control arms, ball joints, tie rods, drop links, etc
o Rebuilt OEM spring plates with Elephant racing monoball bushing kit
o new OEM 964 RS Strut Brace

Brakes:
o Rebuild calipers, new pads and rotors
o New OEM soft lines

Transmission:
o New OEM clutch, pressure plate, clutch fork, RS guide tube and midweight flywheel
o FD SSK and goldenrod

Interior:
o Single pole position recovered in classic grey - passenger seat stock for access to rear seats
o OEM Porsche Motorsport Mod 7 recovered in classic grey
o new OEM shift ****
o CocoMats Sisal Mats in Black

Audio:
o Porsche Classic Radio
o OEM speaker kit, front and rear

Exterior:
o Cup 1s - 8/9s with Potenza RE-71RS Tires
o Headlamps – H4s, black rings

I'm extremely happy with the results! Can't wait to get this thing back to the East Coast so I can start driving it!!

Looks awesome, but patina? This is a 30 year old car w/ some chips. Funny.

Looks mint.

Haha. Thanks. There's fading on the roof and bumpers, some cracking in the clear coat...otherwise it is pretty clean, i guess

That's one fresh car, the interior is extra clean! Well done.

Please share driving impressions once you've got a few miles on it. I'm looking at a very similar suspension spec. I'd also like to know tire sizes.

Thanks!!!

Nice interior, semi-outlaw. Unfortunately I can’t live with patina, OCD kicks in

I actually like the patina but i would for sure change the rear lights.
You could also do a 3 step detail and seal everything.
The interior looks very nice but is there a reason that you only have 1 bucket seat?

Great car!

Great car!
Have you seen the price of ABEs?

It's a really typically German thing to do, though. Sport seat for the driver, comfort seat for the passenger!

Thanks! A detail with seal is a good idea. I'll see when i get the car. As far as the tail lights, I thought about replacing them but I felt that the new plastic would look out of place with the bumper. I like the faded pink look on this car. Although, headlights are fresh so many down the road. That and a set of french (yellow) fogs!

Haha. 1 seat so we have access to the rear seats for the kids! Can't leave home without them.

And not only Germany...I've seen a lot of longhoods spec'd that way from the factory which i thought was pretty cool. Sport seat for driver and comfort for passenger!

Beautiful and enjoy it! I enjoy watching the workshops videos on YT. It’s cool to see a build of this kind.
