Nice job bringing the car back to its former glory and improving all the factory shortcomings, it’s a stunning car and a keeper. Enjoy it.
Thanks, I have noticed what you say about the color. Really liking it.

Fuel gage was dead so I had to replace it, it is a new design compared to my 1990 gage.

It is registered as a "collection" car so these plates are legal.

Question of the day on the AC. Yesterday, hot day 34C, driving 2 hours with the AC on full blast. The car dripped water for nearly 4 hours after from the front center. The entire AC system is new EXCEPT the evaporator. Is that possible that it is not fully functioning and froze up and actually need to be changed too ?

During these 2 hours of driving it was blowing cold but I do not really have a point of reference on the 964, anything less than full blast and it was getting sort of warm in there.

No answer for your A/C- but you do replace the evaporator I recommend the Griffith's unit.

In terms of your wheel rubbing- have you installed the thicker steering stops on the tie rods? There was a Service Bulletin regarding the change to a thicker steering stop.

If the tire does not hit the outer fender its worth a try to fit a small spacer as well.

Hope your enjoying it!

Enjoying it a lot !

I have not heard of the bulletin so probably not.

As for the Griffith';s evaporator that thing has been out of stock forever and still is I believe.

I can’t comment if the evap needs replacing but I had my AC partially rebuilt a year ago and it will keep the cabin plenty cool at speed setting 2 on a 97 degree day, speaking from very recent experience. As our cabins are like big fish bowls it does likely take more AC than modern cars to keep them cool which is something we really don’t think about so I can see the need to run higher speeds on really hot days.

My AC is blowing ice cold... Just refilled.

Are you sure that there is enough cooling liquid? Or is compressor engaging? Connections not leaking?
