Default Cam questions

I have to replace my valve cover and timing chain seals so I am thinking of what to do "while I am there". I have a complete build R53 JCW that really perked up when I added a cam and was thinking of adding one to my 964 and maybe increasing the size of injectors. The 964 is used as a weekender that will usually go to a C&C and a nice 1-200 mile loop after. I may do a lapping day in it but, honestly I have a better, and much more cost friendly tool for that.

Current set up:Fabspeed airbox, cup pipe, Fabspeed high flow cat and will be adding a FVD secondary soon. (Just bought here on RL)

With all this being said, what should I be looking for and, would SWchip still be the best option for tuning?

I have been to their shop and got a great tour from Jeff and Earl. I would love to have the extra to let them build a 4.0 BUT, that's not in the budget.

If you're thinking about replacing the cams, you will need all the rocker arm faces reground so they wear into the new cams. It starts to get to be a slippery slope.

A common upgrade is 993SS cams, and they do wake the car up a bit. I have them in mine. May need to couple with a tune (Steve Wong makes one for these cams).

Thanks for the tip. I am guessing you have the SW chip as well? Can you tell me where you notice a difference? Any negatives?

ThanksJosh

Also, the rocker arm bushings need to be replaced.
I don't recall it costing me a whole bunch of money. I used G2 Performance Shop in Grand Rapids.
