Three Wheelin'
The aesthetics aren’t always my taste, but that is an impressive workspace and well thought out organization with obvious attention to detail- though calling cosmoline-covered suspension parts “dirty” is hard to hear!
The exaggeration every time their name comes up is probably great for business. Maybe “repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth” needs changed to “repeat a correlation often enough, it becomes a causality” for the 21st century
Replace labels with “Singer sales” and “amount of sky that’s falling”

Look at the values of original 80's M505 cars vs. fiberglass conversions, I can't help but think that all the backdates and RWB cars aren't just round 2 of this same scenario. I guess we'll know in 30 years or so.

Having seen a Singer driven hard (followed one for an hour, in my Spyder), I think they are worthy of respect.

Absolutely, my replacement front bumper and many other parts came from Autobahn. Much much nicer condition than the parts I had so for me Singer doing what they do was a winner.
In saying that I'm thankful I saw the light in the end and kept my rebuild true to what it was created as, a 964.
No question the Singer is incredible but over the last 8-9 years I'm not liking them as much as I once did.

I was fairly surprised on the number of cars that have and are planned to be converted in the future. Im sure a number are Euro spec cars as I just can't see it being that easy to find 964's in the states. I love the interior craftsmanship and think they are a pretty cool build overall but it is sad to know that these cars are disappearing.

Not for me, sorry.
My favourite car in that video is genuinely the stock 89 C4. Its the naturally pretty girl next door, in a room full of pantomime dames.

There is a warehouse here in the UK which has 300 964's in storage for Singer. Not sure if these will be shipped to the US or if Singer are intending to open a facility here in the UK to serve Europe. Given Porsche built about 65,000 of them a couple of thousand being converted to Singer's is no great loss.

There are pros and cons to everything. No doubt Singer is here to stay and the enthusiast is a dying breed.
It is quite sad that the best car Porsche ever built will be gone soon with very few examples remaining. Even worse the few remaining will be those with needs and skeletons.
Coming from a fabrication and manufacturing background I don't find what Singer is doing as impressive at all. They finally got their act together but what happens when the 964 supply dries up which will happen long before the orders stop coming in. Will Porsche support their product when they shut their doors due to lack of donor cars? Are the RSA/RS and turbos next on the chopping block? BTW of all my friends & acquaintances that have one they all had issues with fit and finish and doors needing to be adjusted. Several sold saying it was just Ok. Took the money and purchased a 3.6T or moved on.
Truly sad that the idle rich need a shinny backdated falice to arrive at the C&C before they do. One day we'll look back and say oh well. I am just glad I have my 5 and wish I purchased a dozen more.

Porsche is already supporting Singer by building their engines: https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a3...north-america/
I say again, Porsche built almost 65,000 964's and Singer, along with Ruf, have converted less than 5% of those. They will run out of customers willing to shell out $500,000 before they run out of donors! Look on the bright side, there is now a huge supply of 964 parts. Would not surprise me if Porsche buys Singer at some point in the future.

@Heuerman I wish they did build that many. Every known source is incorrect. It wasn't until Porsche released their Classic Originale Book # 2 and came out and said that all 964 Vin numbers for each year each model both US and RoW all start with 061 instead of 001 that we see actual numbers drop. In total, every 964 made totals 58,228 units. This includes turbos, RS and RSR's etc. At nearly 7k less in total that changes a lot and if you subtract all the specialty cars that are more valuable as is it leaves very little. Don't believe everything you read in magazines that are getting paid to feature these cars and want to make it sound better than it is.
Coupes were made in total at 27,009 World wide. Only 5,106 were imported to the US and Canada, of those we had seen a min of 50% chopped up for parts, crashed, totalled, exported and the like. These cars were getting cannibalized at the rate of 3 a week years ago for their parts. I have been following and arguing production numbers for decades. I had access to the Porsche database for a while and was able to confirm the last and first vins of most all models. The targas will be the first to go with only 1033 imported to the US and Canada and only another 2,294 for the entire RoW. A far cry from the 65k you claim.
So at the rate of 3-500 or so a year it won't be long before there are no eligible coupes or targas remaining in the US. Assuming if everyone sells US coupes will be gone in another 3-4 years min and then the remaining are spread out around the planet and how many of those suffered the same fate as the early years here?
It has gotten to the point that nearly every 964 coupe I look at is either $150k or is not eligible for a singer build.

We have a similar issue with E-Type Jaguars where companies like Eagle E-Type's and Evolution E-Type's take a Series 1 car (considerably rarer than a 964) and 'reimagine' it.. I will bow to your knowledge of the 964 as I own a 993 C2 coupe.
