Sunset usually has good prices. They have it for $2262. Just Google the part number to cross shop, become a member, and list in the classifieds 10% below the lowest price you can find.

While many of these are listed as available - some items are no longer available. Not long ago, this was the case for this hood. I last saw one on eBay a few years ago for $4k. Not sure if it sold.

My personal experience with aluminum hoods on 911's is they don't hold up well like the steal hoods. My 928 has an aluminum hood but the design prevents it from chipping. Although it is constantly twisting and needs to be straightened. IIRC the 911 hood has a steal frame so might not be as much of an issue. I am assuming you will need to eliminate the hood struts and use the RS support bar? My 3.0RS clone had an aluminum hood and I didn't just get rock chips. When a solid hit occurred it would chunk the paint off or worse would leave little dents. I recommend some PPF if you go that route.

Truth. For a few years these were out of stock like the RS uprights, and the prices were upwards of $4,000 to $5,000. I’m running with a carbon fiber lid now, but the fitment needs some adjusting and the aluminum weighs 4 lbs. less…
