Thanks for posting. That makes me very sad to hear about Steve, he’s definitely a true legend in the Porsche community, always very helpful with the best advice. My thought are with you and your family.

Very saddened to hear this news. Steve played a pivotal role in the suspension rebuilds of my 993, and my 964. He’s passionate, patient to a fault, and incredibly knowledgeable. This will be a huge loss to the entire 993 community, and beyond. Keep the throttle down, Steve, and God speed.

Ugh so sorry to hear this. Steve was instrumental in my engine rebuild 4 + years ago.
He was very generous with his time/knowledge even when there was no financial gain to be had.
Enjoyed our many lengthy conversations over all things Porsche. He will be sorely missed.

Thoughts and prayers out to Steve and his family. He's a legend and "go to guy" in the P-car community for as long as I can remember. He rebuilt my 3.6 distributor back in 2017 and was always pleasantly helpful and great to work with.
All the best to him and his family during this time.

Somehow I knew about Steve and Rennsport Systems before I even knew anything else about Porsches- back from my BMW 2002 days. When I got the 964 I searched basically every post on this and other forum with his username. He was the first person I talked with about the 964 and I felt like I was talking with a God! We talked about all things- my work, his interests going back to his motorcycle days etc etc. He's a truly enjoyable person.
I wish him the best during this time.

Very sad news indeed. A truly HUGE and meaningful mentor to many here. I am honored and grateful His mark is on my 993 and he thoughtfully guided me through my top end rebuild a few years back.

Steve helped so many time as I rebuild my engine, such a calming poster on some of the threads that got a bit heated and ended being right. Endless suspension advice which has helped me select what I am doing now. He will be greatly missed. Painless travels Steve.

This sucks. Hes a treasure to the community. My 964 has a stack of service receipts for near 20 years from his shop…. Going back to when it was near new…

Oh man, this is very sad to hear. Steve's been kind to offer me free advice over the years regarding my 993. I've never met him in person, I'm just an internet stranger. Despite this he was kind enough to give me some of his time to answer questions. One of the legends of Rennlist.

This is horrible news. another one ,....FOCK!!! I am an MD PHD Hem-ONC. it Pains me almost everyday to see how little we have advanced therapies.... This will not end well. I doubt he is a candidate for immunotherapies.

So sad! I had been in very close touch with Steve of late including the day he arrived home on 4/8/2023 from the local hospital. At that point he would be under the care of Hospice. Nevertheless, he still wanted to call me that same very evening but later said I'm so exhausted that I just can't now. The following day he sent me another text saying that I'm going to shut my phone off as I need my rest. That was my last communication with him. While his condition was grave he truly wanted one last drive in his 1974 Porsche 911. He told me that many times over the last few weeks. He hoped the car which he owned since it was new would eventually go to a forever home. Anyone that came across Steve knew he was a very kind and gentle soul that was full of knowledge and passion. He was willing to share all with anyone that would reciprocate and appreciate to even the smallest degree. In closing, they say no one is irreplaceable and I beg to differ.
Last, I must mention during my very open and candid discussions over the last few weeks I asked Steve if he wanted me to advise any friends of his condition? He said that was fine with him. I then added what about all the friends you have on RL and Pelican should they be advised eventually too? He added, "I never even thought about that but that's fine". He was so humble and not even aware of how well he was appreciated and respected. What a guy!
