Well crap. Steve is a treasure to this entire community. Sad to hear. This place was better because of him.

Steve was so willing to help us make good decisions. I missed meeting him at the last Rennsport reunion and regret it to this day. Stand up guy, I’m praying for a miracle.

Steve shared some personal details with me that I wanted to add. Many know that his wife passed away a few years ago after battling cancer. He and his wife never had children and had no remaining family members left. In fact, his life long friend since 1955 was going to be his executor of the estate. As for his personal health matters he advised that we all get our colonoscopies and specifically said that we should get one annually. Again, he was looking out after our personal health just like he did for our Porsche's health. He was a genuine and caring man to say the least.

I am devastated.
I only got to meet Steve face to face once, but we talked for hours, He never ran out of great stories, Porsche and life advice or a funny anecdote. Always extremely generous, opinionated and humble, I have not owned a car in the past two decades that didn't have some sort of his influence on. . But one of our last conversations was about families, work, retirement and legacy,
I can only hope that when I am gone that my memory is as graceful and kind as Steve's. . Enjoy the ride man, You are missed
Remember, go fast, take chances

Yeesh, not a great week. Steve and Paul (Metal Guru) were both so giving of their time, I know that even just through their posts here, I personally learned a ton. Sad to see them go - I'm gonna go for a nice, spirited, canyon drive - gotta live each day to the fullest. Hopefully there will be a way to donate in their names to the ACS or something as at least a small token of gratitude and to pay it forward as they both did so often.

This is sad news indeed. I hope those he had touched carry on in his memory.

Wow, Steve is still helping me! I got directed to a transmission oil thread where Steve cleared up some confusion and helped a lot…as he always did. What a loss but he’s not forgotten.
