Steve Weiner
Hello everyone,
I learned some very unfortunate news about our friend, Steve Weiner. I felt you should know. Sadly, he's in late, stage IV colon cancer, and probably won't make it much longer than a few weeks. He's currently in Hospice care.
Steve needs no introduction here. He is a legend amongst the Porsche community for all that he has contributed. As a Rennlist Technical Advisor, he has shared vast amounts of Porsche knowledge and guidance with the community and has asked for so little in return. He has put tens of thousands of hours into Rennlist posts, phone calls, emails, and more. He always found time for you and treated everyone like a friend.
I was one of the many who took so much from Steve while returning so little. It was so much fun to talk to him about how to squeeze all the capabilities out of my car and out of my driving. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Steve. Unfortunately, that can’t help him now. The world will lose a great one.
It’s a small consolation, but I know that he has inspired me. I’m a better person because of knowing Steve. And I suspect that many others would say the same. Steve will be missed, but he won’t be forgotten – part of his legacy is immortalized here on Rennlist.
It’s a more meaningful consolation that Steve told me that he’s ready to join his wife. Please keep Steve in your thoughts.

I suspect he would implore us to keep up with our colonoscopies. The prep isn’t as bad as it used to be.
My grandparents warned me not to get old. I should have listened.

One of the great cornerstones of Rennlist and this crazy passion we all have. His years of knowledge and depth of experience that he has selflessly shared with everyone and anyone is nothing short of amazing. He will be truly missed in the Rennlist and Porsche community.

One of the best sleeps I had. I didn't think any part of it was bad. Sadly, colon cancer has been on the rise amongst younger men for years in America.

That's a bummer. Talked to him a while back - passionate about building these cars.
I've had a test pending. Will schedule.

Many years back when I acquired my turbo I called Steve and out of the blue he stoped what he was doing and we had a long chat with a stranger on the other end of the phone line. Never will forget his kindness to explain to this noob the basics and offer up free advice of great value. And true to Steve's nature, he has one last lesson of knowledge (get screened regularly) too impart to the community.
He will be missed and will be a loss to the online and Porsche community, Steve is what is good about this hobby and internet forums. Wishing him a peaceful journey and thoughts go out to his extended family.

Sad, I am in the process of looking into distributor belt replacement and came right across a post from him, "I'm always right here" . May he RIP.

Wow, this is terrible news. May his family have strength through this time.
I also called him up once out of the blue when I purchased my first car, about 18 years ago. Total stranger, but he answered my questions about pedal set-up while he was doing some dishes (I could hear the clinking in the background). He is one of the pillars of the Porsche world, and we will greatly miss his contributions.

Very sad news. Life is fragile and certainly a struggle at times. We should all appreciate the time with our family and friends. It can all be gone in a blink.

Sad news, Steve has given so much to this community over the years. He will be missed for sure, but his contributions will continue to inspire others for years to come. Our thoughts are with Steve and his family.

Sad news. I spoke with him when I first purchased my 964 and a few times afterwards. Very helpful and nice guy in taking my phone calls.

Saw this at Pelican just now, and I cross-posted to the 911 board here.
Thanks for letting us know. He stopped posting on the 911 board a couple of years ago, and I've really missed him. He helped me plan some suspension upgrades, but I never followed through.
Very sad news.
