RIP Metal Guru
Sadly on the heels of losing Steve Weiner (RIP), I was informed we lost another brother. Our dear friend and avid turbo/964 forum enthusiast/contributor Metal Guru passed this weekend after his battle with Pancreatic cancer.
Paul was a brilliant man and a great friend with a long history in the automotive industry. I had known Paul for a very long time but only within the past few years had we become very close. When I heard he had contracted the disease I was quite concerned. I have lost far too many friends to this awful disease and seen some wonderful people lose their battle in just a few short weeks. It is so very sad. It seemed the treatments were working and we were optimistic he was winning the battle. After months of chemo and treatments things looked good. Apparently 2 weeks after a clean scan the follow up scans showed it had returned but this time was far too aggressive and he was too weak from the treatments to battle it further.
I did not have a chance to say goodbye to my good friend but I know he is somehow reading this. He will be missed dearly by me and no doubt by many here. His knowledge and contributions is a huge loss to the community.
As soon as I find what charities or foundations the family might want donations sent too I will post. I encourage everyone to contribute. Cancer has become a big part of the world we live in and can attack quickly if you aren't careful. My own 14 years of combating a lesser cancer makes me understand how important it is to have yourself screened periodically. Maybe just maybe one day they will find a cure for this terrible disease but this can't happen unless contributions to the the American Cancer Society or other foundations by us help fund the research.
My prayers go out to his family and of course Paul. I will miss our weekly conversations and banter here on rennlist. RIP brother.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our friend and fellow Porsche enthusiast, Paul. He was an exemplary figure in our community, someone who not only possessed a wealth of knowledge but also generously shared that knowledge about Porsche with others. His passion was incredibly infectious, and his genuine willingness to help others was a testament to his character.
Thank you, Anthony, for bringing this somber news to our attention. Please let us know once you've decided on a foundation through which we can pay our respects and contribute in Paul's memory. Your thoughtfulness is truly commendable.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Paul RIP,
Paul was a great friend, I spoke with usually in the mornings while having coffee. I knew something was wrong when Paul hadn't returned my texts or calls. I loved that man. He will forever be missed. I cried when I got a text from his wife with the sad news. His posts will continue on, to help future Porsche 964 owners, Even though he is no longer with us, Paul's spirit and legacy will continue to live on in those he helped over the years . He will be deeply missed, but his memory will always be a source of information here on Reenlist. Rest in peace, Paul.
With lots of love and a heavy heart.

Such sad news. RIP Paul. You helped me & countless other 964 Turbo enthusiasts, and were always willing to spend time helping to diagnose our car problems which you helped seem much less daunting & easier to understand. I agree with Anthony & hope you are reading all our loving comments & well wishes from above. I'm also hoping you will now get endless warm sunny beautiful days to go WOT whenever you wish.
Thoughts & Prayers to Paul's family. He will certainly be missed here on RL.

Really sad to hear this. I've seen endless advice and helpful information passed on from Paul over the past 15 years to others on these forums, including to myself.
My condolences to his family.

Horrible news. I saw he wasn't posting and I was worried. Prayers for his family. It's such a Horrible cancer.
Paul and I have been talking all the time in the last year. We had such a great connection with these cars.
I met him last summer when he offered me some parts for my car.
I figured I would drive to Detroit and meet him. His 965 and car shows were such a big part of his life.
He was talking about his next upgrades and enjoying the retired life from Ford.
We'll miss him. RIP

RIP. While I didn't know Paul personally he was a welcoming presence for someone new to this community and I always looked forward to his insights.
Paul, I hope you get all the upgrades you ever wanted in heaven.

I just read of his passing, I too had long time dealings with Paul as I fixed his RH set after a local shop made a mess of them many years ago and just last year helped him buy a new set of Polished 3.6 Speediness for his beloved 964 turbo. I have had two bouts of cancer myself and am still a winner and survivor. Currently collecting parts for my dream 914-6 resto mod and planning on a move in the future back to Denver. You will be missed and thank you for all the phone calls. Jim Dorociak

Jim,
Glad to hear you are doing well. It was touch and go for a while. I guess I am a 34 time survivor but it keeps coming back. I miss our weekly calls. It had become part of my weekly routine.

Saddened to read this. I too didn't know Paul personally but over the years have read many of his threads and posts which were very helpful. His passion for Porsche and especially the 964 Turbo was evident, a true enthusiast. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

I have been a bit overwhelmed lately and time hasn't been on my side. I have been meaning to post this info I got from Paul's wife while I was away last week.
These are some foundations she said would be nice to have people donate to. It has not been the same around here without Paul.
