Back in a C4 after 30 years.
It's been over 30 years since I bought and subsequently sold my first 964 C4 coupe (the Polar Silver car below), and I'm elated that I last week found a new to me guards red unmolested C4 to finally get me back into a 964 coupe.
The first car was bought during my time working in Singapore, but it was subsequently sold for a 993. I have since been through a few cars in Singapore, before returning to Australia a couple years ago where I rekindled my love for my 993 that has now been in the family some 20 odd years.
I was elated to recently find a significantly stock 964 come for sale with a good maintenance history, albeit relatively high mileage. Whilst ive alwayw loved tinkering with cars I have over time begun to prefer my cars to be enjoyer in their original state as it gives me a direct window to the past. As a result I will at most be looking at an OEM plus journey with this car with most of the focus just being on maintenanc.
Car is currently getting a full service done on it before it will be shipped to me. Car will stay pretty stock and it may go back to the original D90s at most really looking to create some great memories in the new car and sharing them on Rennlist after a relatively long absence from this forum (especially from the 964 pages).
Cheers!
My first 964 was this polar silver C4 that I purchased second hand back in 1995 approximately.
The new to me car, totally original interior and exterior with the exception of the original D90s which have been replaced with original cups.

2001 - 2014 was the ex Singapore Turbo 3.6 (now somewhere in the UK)
2013 - Now is the ex Singapore C4
2016 - 2018 was a now sold NZ new C4
A 955 Cayenne and two 987.2 Spyders round out my garage.
The value of the 964 has increased markedly but I struggle with the concept of selling it and moving on.

Is your current 964 the car with the 993 transmission? You are right the prices are mad now but i just needed to scratch ths itch one last time and then will likely sell out most of the garage. I do love the variety in your garage- the spiders have always been such a cool thing like the 3.2 Speedster in modern iteration.

Wow that's very interesting mate. Yes there was one amazing white 964 C4 that had the entire 4wd mechanism changes to a 993 4wd system. At the time it was my dream build but now as with as with you I want to experience the C4 in its original form with the wonderfully complicated 4wd.
