Default Need advice: best RS door cards

Ciao Rennlisters,
I need an advice: what are the best RS door cards in your opinion (with power windows & w/o speakers) ?

I’ve had both App Biz, and CarBone. And while Bob is an exceptionally nice guy, the carbone door cards are in a league of their own quality wise. I’d choose those again every time.

App Biz door cards will eventually warp on the edges, specifically bottom left corner by the speaker. Eventually I plan to replace the inner board with maybe a stronger material. Also, the hardware is kind of junk. Door handle end caps never fully snap in, door pulls are pretty cheap. I ended up sourcing oem rs door handles and converted 997 door pulls to 964 by adding a grommet.

I made my own, not the best pic, but they’re pretty simple.

I was really disappointed in the fabric they used on these when I saw them at RR7. I like them otherwise

Is there any where to obtain originals these days? My RSA came with them obviously but the driver side must have got a little wet because the card is deformed just a little.

I’d love to buy a single arm rest like that with an internal pocket just for the drivers side. Anyone seen something like that?

Short Answer : DIY and Porsche hardware

I had the Appbiz cards but discarded them. They warped, the vinyl looked and felt cheap, the hardware and pull straps weren't good either. If you're looking for turnkey Porsche like quality, I'd recommend South Bound Trimmers (no affiliation) for the door card and Porsche for the pull straps and hardware.

I got lucking grabbing some NOS 964 RS handles on ebay. The 993 RS handles are nice. I bought untrimmed cards from South Bound (which comes with foam and edge beading, but others offer bare cards, search "911.555.031.55") as my cards were far too warped to use as a template. I sourced a couple yards of OE equivalent Vinyl ("1853N Black Porsche vinyl", iirc). ... A fun hour or two of stapling, some trimming and placing foam in the same spots as factory. Pretty easy to DIY. ... If these warp I'll probably just make another set but with ABS sheet instead.

I never wanted to take photos of my Appbiz cards, but here's my sloppy DIY:

I went with OEM door panels which I found used on Rennlist a few months ago. New ones are also still available from Porsche but they only use the 993 part number now.

So, guys, I realliy appreciate your help.

Does anyone have any news on the Lakewell or FVD products? I prefer to buy in Europe due to customs fees and shipping costs

(I spent probably 2 years obsessing over the same question but refusing to order genuine Porsche door cars, ha)

I almost bought the Lakewell products. However they sent me the Appbiz installation instructions and on their site they use generic photos the Appbiz parts and a random photo of the FVD handles. I also had a Lakewell "RS style" carpet set installed and ripped it out as it's not equivalent to Porsche spec - not close to the same look, fit and quality. ... I was very skeptical of their door card offering. I'd avoid these parts on these cars.

The FVD cards look better, IMO, and seem to use original Porsche hardware but not the handle. If you get these make sure you transfer the foam from behind your original door cards.

For factory equivalent, Southbound Trimmers are in the UK if that helps with shipping etc.

Which carpet did you end up going with after removing the Lakewell set? I had a tab open to order theirs before reading your post.

For reference.. here is inside of my drivers side RSA door card. Looks like they got a little wet over the years.
