Default Tire storage rack?

Well, with three 911's all with summer and winter tires....
I need some storage method.
I've seen the racks that mount on the wall and I'm into that but would like some pulley / hoist system so I can get them down without having to manage them on a ladder.

And ideas welcome.

I looked into wall racks but ended up going with these tire dollies:
Amazon Amazon
Storing the tires on their side is probably better for them, and you don't have to lift them as high. You do lose a bit more floor space, but not a ton.

Tire wheel combinations are usually around 50 lb a corner. That's 200 lb for a set of wheels and tires. I didn't read it as he was going to have two sets of tires and wheels in storage and a third set of tires and wheels on the car but maybe. If it's the traditional one set of Summers and one set of winners, that will easily hold a wheel tire combination

I figured he was going to try and put up as many tires as he can on the rack...I just put my stock D90 set on the ground in the corner with padding seperating each tire for protection and the other set for my Cobra in the other corner of the garage......I am afraid to put that heavy of an item that high....The service station I worked at when I was younger had a tubular tire rack come off the wall even though only a few tires were on there and it damaged both cars in the shop....

You post couldn't have been better timed....I am on the same hunt. With a bunch of cars and multiple sets of wheels, it's getting crazy. Was researching lifts, etc.

I might get a couple of the wall mounted racks, put a large lag screw with in eyelid from the ceiling, feed a rope through and hoist em up.

I already have a ceiling hoist in another spot for a hardtop for my old SL but it'd be silly/overkill for wheels/tires. I will be interested to see others ideas here

I also have wheel dollies that I made awhile ago, but again takes up a bunch of critical floor space and you are constantly wheeling them for spot to spot.

This makes me think of something like this, but with tires instead of balloons hanging across the entire ceiling!

But this is what I had in my garage when I had my GT4. Winter tires on the car. Summer and track tires on the wall. Granted, it's not exactly what you're looking for, but maybe it'll spark some ideas:

I did the combo wall rack + pallet + HF dolley for mobility (not in pic). Of course this is in my basement.
Obviously when garage space is at a premium, the higher the better.

One of the major downsides of living in California is lack of basements and storage in general. I’m always looking for ways to get yard and holiday decorations out of the garage to make room for wheels and other car parts.

Exactly :-)

I was also thinking about three wall racks with a secured pulley and rope that I could use to hoist up / down.

To the above comment, yes.... I have three sets of wheels to deal with. Plus my Garage ceiling is Vaulted to that also makes that platform set up, although dope as hell, complicated and too expensive. At this point I have them stacked vertically on wheel platforms but I have plans to get a lift installed this spring so floor space is going to
be even more valuable.

I pulled the trigger on two of these a few days back: https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-ti...wall-rack.html
Will report back how it goes. I was looking for something to hang up out of the way.

Those look interesting. Definitely going to add a rope and pulley....the Cayenne wheels 21x11 with 315s on them are friggin heavy.

Just came across this- good for up to 400LBS and attaches to the wall so no need for a flat ceiling.
