Singer restauration of your 964 anyone?
For various reasons, it seems you can have a Singer restoration of your 964 if you want it with a 4l, 6 sp, Ed Pink engine. You are looking at a price of about $900k plus options and the cost of a donor car. (Estimated final price of $1.2 to $1.4m). Delivery at the end of 2025. Singer needs your donor car next month.
It seems a lot of people are switching their orders for a turbo, thus freeing up deliveries of the non-turbo model. Interested?

At that price I'd want another car.
If I want a perfect 964, to experience *the feeling it gave me*, I'd want it closer to stock.
A monster of performance in a 964 body is antinomic.

Their business model is not a good one at their scale. Eventually they either need to go the RUF route or contract their business. The overhead is massive and forces the 7 figure price tags they put on their cars. And there's only so many people who are willing to spend 7 figures on a restomod.

not me
I should have written that I could not see/justify this ($1M+), given that I like to drive my cars and not just collect them. At this price, one can drive several phenomenal cars. They are not selling well and apparently are not appreciating in value.

No thanks. As much as I like the look and workmanship. I don't need a museum piece. Not to mention...The wait would be annoying (i'm impatient), The money is ridiculous. I'll just continue to daily drive my $h1+box C4 and smile while stuck in traffic and back at the people who generally appreciate seeing a rolling classic on the road.

I would consider turning mine into a restaurant before a Singer.

To the initial question, no, I would not, I think it's a California fad...and thank you, I learned a new word today...
