You are right albeit this one is in fabricated titanium. Now I'm trying to think of a prize -- any modifications to your 964?

Damn it - I was just going to say, 'Titanium bracket for ABS pump...,

with carbon-fibre inner wafer, gold heat-shielding and diamond-encrusted lower surface.'

Robert,

I suspect there are a lot of forum readers (like me) who have seen mention of this car along with many of your wonderful pictures who (like me) would like to learn more of the history and future plans for this car.

I know it's a 1-off America GS car and it seems you are designing and building a massive array of specialist parts using very expensive materials. Is this being used as a development tool for your business or is there some longer term aim for you (or Porsche AG)?? Is the car likely to be used only as an exhibition piece or will it ever get driven in anger??

From the photos I've seen (which are mostly of individual parts) it looks stunning and, I'm guessing, photos of the complete car are likely to be forthcoming as the project nears completion.

I'm sure there are others (like me) who would appreciate a little more information to satify the curiosity.

Regards

Dave

Dave, I believe that HD has been a tremendous development and capabilities showcase platform for Cartridge. PAG is already rewarding Bob's effort as indicated in the Daytona 24 hour prep piece I recieved from PMS for preparing the Cup. Details are at:

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...d.php?t=170742

Again, congrats Bob, nice to see all the hard work being recognized and getting out and available to race effort level now!

Humpty Dumpty is a development vehicle and technology and techniques developed and tested therefrom and therein are already finding their way into current new vehicles and I would expect this to be the case for several years to come. When completed, it will be occasionally driven and it will also be used display technology.
