Because there was nothing to be accomplished by changing the base from the standard part -- particularly given certain of its functionality, stress upon it, etc.

Humpty Dumpty is a cabriolet -- with a removable hardtop with an electric sunroof and a heated rear windscreen.

Sounds intriguing... Have you posted any pics of your roof system before (could you post a link to it maybe?)
Many thanks!

VERY nice! I've heard that there are a couple of hardtops around, i looked at a site in the US, but it didn't look anywhere near as good as your system (especially with the sunroof).

Does it fit, keeping the soft roof canvas fitted in place?

The cabriolet top must be removed. As to fit, as it was made by Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG specifically for this car and was fitted to this car, the fit and finish is perfect -- as are the dashboard mounted switches for the sunroof and the heated windscreen.
