Skid plates?
Does anyone out there know of a company making bolt on skid plates to protect the u/s of a lowered car? Mine is lowered and occasionally scrapes on the ramp into/out of my parking area. Not heavily but enough and often enough to make me want to add some kind of protection to the rear and front suspension to make sure its kept away from damage. I have already raised the ride height a little using the threaded spring perches on the struts/dampers but any more and it would look rather silly I think. Grateful for any thoughts.

Mark I hope that you are aware that screwing with these spring perches changes corner weights, and should only be done by a shop with the proper eqipment. Hope that that is what you have had done...

Yes, thanks but I had the alignment shop do it last time it was in for this and corner balancing. They raised it only about 8mm anyway but it conjures up some pretty wild images I suppose.
Thanks anyway

Reviving an old thread.
Has anyone seen after-market rear underside/ crankcase protection plates?
I think I saw something for under the front? A protection bar of some sort but perhaps that was for 993?
Any help appreciated.

Careful using a front protection bar. If you hit something with it it can tear off and make a mess of your front floor pan; been there, got the mess to fix Kind of defeats the point of having it. It actually effectively lowers the clearance for the front and makes it more likely to scrape than without.

I agree, the bar doesn't sound like a good idea, you could end up doing more damage.
The best solution IMO, is a plate, made to fit like a rally car sump guard.
If there was enough interest, I would look into it further. If it's made properly, you shouldn't loose much ground clearance and there will be no problems with it catching and causing more damage.
How about something along these lines.
It could be made from alloy!

I used one of the bars from Bert at Carnewal (sp?) Its good but as mentioned above if you hit something hard it could possibly damage the front pan. It works on mine as I have a small scrape each time I park and I'd rather scrape the bar than risk scraping the front pan.

I think that picture I posted is not for one from a 911, but i chose it as it was a similar shape.
It would neet to be made with out all the shaped sections otherwise it will end up being too expensive.
I'll stick mine on a ramp and see what could be done!
