Was this car checked over before you bought it - or did you take a calculated risk??

IF it was inspected, & they missed the broken valve springs etc stick it to 'em.

If not, spend the money & enjoy your new car! Even if you spend £5k on a top end, clutch & bits n pieces, you've got a £19k car wih no leaks and no need for major work for many, many years.

A 1990 Marine Blue Metallic C4? With an oil leak? and 115,000 km? Sounds like the car I sold in October! But it had 82,000 miles, a bit more than yours.

I really liked that color. Mine had a cashmere (color) interior, with dark blue piping on the seats. I wish I could have found a 993 in the same color scheme.....It was a beautiful car.

Good luck with your rebuild!

Yup - I havent seen many Marine Blues about - I thought it was charcoal/black until I got the log book!!!

Well, I (foolishly?) didnt bother with an pre-check prior to buying as I'd looked at around 10 examples, and this was by far the cleanest I had seen. The engine from the top down looked 'dry as a bone' - I didnt get the bellypan off however, and it was only after a couple of weeks parked in my garage that I noticed the puddles begin to appear

So yes, as Johnfm says earlier - I guess I'll just pay the bill and hope for a few years trouble free motoring

Thanks to all you guys for taking time to post your good wishes too btw - much appreciated

Ian A
