Goodbye Sweet 964
Just a note to say that I have immensely enjoyed reading this forum since I first bought my 964 some time ago (back to the days when there were no separate 964 forums!).
Last Wednesday, out of the blue, I got a call from someone who wanted to buy my 964 and had seen it on my website. The money offered made sense, and a deal was struck. The car left my hands yesterday (after much photo taking!).
May I take this opportunity to thank all the tech gurus (you all know who you are) for continuing to make this a forum that people such as myself always love to visit when time permits...
in the immortal words of adrian...
ciao

Dear Harold,
Thank you for your contribution as well. You were with us when we were few in cyberspace. You even built yourself one of the first true 964 sites. You have helped turn things around for the 964. So much in fact that demand for the 964 is increasing. I was told today that there are three buyers on Hong Kong waiting for manual 964s.
You were also one of the pioneers of some serious engine mods which did not work. Your courage and honesty in this area will always be appreciated.
I do not want to say we will miss you because I hope you visit often. Take care, I wish you a great future and thank you.
Ciao,
Adrian

When I was looking at buying a 964 I also benefited from the cyber-sharing of your experiences. Many Thanks and we hope to see you again.

Dear All,
Thankyou very much for the kind words. I will certainly continue to haunt this board!
What makes me happiest is that "my" 964 appears to have gone to an absolute enthusiast, a gentleman by the name of Peter Watkins (who happens to be a fellow Australian, Adrian!). He had owned 2 previous early model 911s followed by 2 944s, and done numerous hill climbs etc. He has promised me "conjugal" rights to the 964, allowing me to view it whenever I start to miss it too much!.
I will also be informing him of this board as well as John's excellent forum.
Indeed, I have just picked up a 993 (this time C2). So far appears to be the same, yet different.
Take care all. BTW, Adrian, you can't escape me...I still want a copy of your book when it comes out!!!
Cheers, and have a great weekend!

G'day Harold...
Well, as the new owner owner of 'Complete 964' here in Singapore, I've gotta say you've done a great job in preserving both its body and its soul.
It is my fifth Porsche, but certainly the most meaningful after a long seven year wait.
Interesting that this car has now instigated a friendship between us that will definitely extend through many Porsches...
I won't be able to keep your website up-to-date, but at least we can track and share our experiences with everybody else through this forum.
See you on the road, mate!
Cheers,
Peter Watkins

After posting about ,y new to me 964, i decided to take a stroll down memory lane and ended up strolling through the rennlist cyberspace for the first time in a long while and found this post. Such a cool thing the internet, to see how life turns around, sorry but i just had to post my new purchase to my old goodbye thread.

Insane isn't it mate. Remember when he was moving along to the 996 GT2 and he's so right, the prices are just mad now. Any idea where Adrian retired to in Oz?
