So Close To My First 964
Hi Everybody
I am new to Rennlist but hope to remain for some time!! I am about to purchase (hopefully) my first Porsche - A 964 C4.
Sadly I have looked at many that have been less than described to say the least! But have recently found a 1990 C4 in Baltic Blue with just under 69k miles.
Serviced by the supplying main dealer up to 45k then specialists (Strasse, Specialist Cars Malton and JZ Machtech's).
The only mod is a de cat carried out ib Feb this year. The car had new clutch, oil pipes, seals, rear discs and pads at 50k. A full PPI will hopefully allow me to asess any real issues which in turn will allow some barganing power.
She has the usual spec including air con(that works) sun roof, full closure alarm, CD system, cup alloys etc etc.
Just as a bit of fun -What do you think she is worth?
I will of course update you on my progress and let you know the asking price in UK £.
Best Regards

I paid 30K USD (approx. 17,000 GBP) for my '92 C2 w/ 53k miles. My car has RD springs, Ruf chin spoiler, and Ruf wheels. All leather package w/ power seats. exterior and interior condition is a 9 out of 10 if not 10/10. All receipts and records. Very clean car so I paid a bit of a premium. Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks for the replies so far - What a superb C2!
It seems in the UK at the moment 92/93 car with 85k is ball park 19/20k form a specialist with 1990 with 80k at 17/18k.
Sold privately as above - lowest 15k. The car I am looking at stands at 17.4k at the moment but I will reduce that based on findings of PPI - or simply keep searching although the excitement is killing me!

Good luck on the purchase...I think your prices in the UK are always higher than US prices [maybe due to supply and the exchange rate I would assume]. The important thing is knowing why you are paying a premium compared to "market" if you are. I just bought a 1992 968 for $18K, which is considered at the high end of the market, but this car is in amazing shape, has 48K miles, and full records. I'd rather know what I'm buying now and "overpay" for it rather than finding out later that $5K of work is needed to make it right.
Bottom line, there is a high emotional quotient when it comes to these cars, and if you think the price is fair given the options out there and your financial situation, go for it. Later on you will want new suspension or some other mod, and the general public would think you mad for spending $2,000 just for suspension parts...but you'll know that you made the right decision after installing them and enjoying them every time you get behind the wheel!

Paid $19k this summer for a stock '89 C4 with 48,000 miles and all records. Spent $600 on A/C, ride heigth adjustment and oil change.
If it's meant to be it will happen.
