A picture of an RS3.8 in its natural environment:
Same car, same track, different corner:
The car is pristine, and it goes like stink
I did some laps in the passenger seat, and it was a great experience. Afterwards I found it very difficult to get out, but that might also have been due to the narrow bucket seat
Cheers,
JW

Front disks (rotors) are 965.351.045 (046).00 and the rear disks are the same part number as the Carrera RS 3.6 uses.
Ciao,
Adrian.
PS: All this will be pretty irrelevant when looking at the race car versions especially in the series where single wheel nuts were permitted. The data above is for the RS 3.8 basic and clubsport versions which could be road registered in some countries. By 1995 the 964 RSR had been somewhat further developed and I don't have the Porsche Motorsports catalogue for them.

There is an article in the November 03 issue of 911 & Porsche world showing a Cobalt blue 964 RS with full interior. They do state aluminum Hood, doors and glass engine lid and 3.8 wing. They also claim 300HP and 9 & 11 Speedlines.
They do make mention of 94 turbo brakes. The big reds/blacks used the same size pads and were used on the 928 GTS just mounted on the trailing side vs leading. The pads are the same as far as I can tell and are interchangeable between my 2 cars. The front rotors on the GTS are the same as the 94 but are solid instead of vented part number 928.351.045(046).10
Is it possible that the RSR I saw had the Kevlar front hood? I just recall the conversation very clearly as this car was the car that set my interests in the 94 turbo. I also recall the RSR having only a drivers seat and no interior at all along with air jacks built in.

The 928 GTS and the 3.6 Turbo use the same size front caliper with the mounting changes you state. The part number for the pad in both cars starts with the numbers "928". The 3.8 RS used the same brakes as the 3.6 Tubo and I believe, but have not been able to check for sure, that they were also on the 3.3 Turbo S before they appeared on the 928 or 3.6 Turbo.
I "flipped" a set of the 928 calipers by changing the crossover pipe and bleeder screws to make a black "big red" caliper for the front of my 964 and it worked great.
Also the 3.8 RS and 3.8 RSR used the thinner 964 RS style drilled rear rotor rather than the thicker Turbo rear rotor.

I believe they appeared on the 92 ROW turbo S and the ROW 968 Turbo along with the Speedlines first introduced on these cars. Although technically these weren't true production cars so the GTS would be the first Porsche to use the big brakes. They also used the Cup II's on the GTS before they used them on the 993's yet they are usually referred to as 993 cup wheels. Go figure.
I am assuming they used the thinner rear rotor because of the reduced weight of the NA motor vs the heavier turbo motor?
