Default Carbon Fiber Fan Shroud

Rough initial piece. Final ones will be much improved.

I have an idea Mr Linton...

Since you'll be cycling through better and better cf fan shrouds in your search for perfection, can the members of this forum bid for the "non-perfect" ones? The left-overs I mean. The ones you no longer want. Like this one.

Im-perfect parts are sure to inflame the sensibilities of my fellow Rennlisters, perfectionists all to a man (or woman).

However, in this case, I am convinced they would consider making an exception.

As much as I would like to be cooperative, we do not release parts until they meet the Cartridge quality standard and we do not sell to the public.

Why plural? I thought Humpty-Dumpty was a one off so why make more than one?

What is the purpose of teasing us when we can't purchase anything? LOL

I love the project, what is the purpose of creating this monster? Fun, experiment, too much money too burn?

I only post because I believe people would find it interesting. If this is not the case, I will stop as I do not want to waste peoples' time. As to the purchase of the project, it was and is to test and develop new processes, procedures, ideas and potential products, to evaulate certain designers and engineers and to evaluate certain sub suppliers.

Robert,

Please keep the updates coming. I always enjoy your post. However, having seen many of your post I have always wondered what your job at McLaren racing was.

Please do not stop. I am one that always looks for updates on new parts and photos of your project.

I third the "keep 'em coming" for these beautiful parts. I still hope at some point that you'll have an unveiling of the completed project where we could see this car in the metal (and carbon fibre!)

very nice, Bob.
what was the weight delta between this and the stock plastic shroud?

I am installing the stock fan and shroud this weekend for the drive down to San Diego this summer.
They are heavy

Keep posting, we find it very intriguing. Just wondering the purpose of your project. I find it quite amazing the workmanship you are doing just wondered why.

I hope you didn't take any offense.

I think we are jealous that we can't have such beautiful pieces.
