Smile Why my name is not wrong in spanish

It came to my attention (from a message from a fellow rennlister) that my chosen name in this board was an ugly word for some of you, the explanation is simple:
I am argentinian, my name is Enrique and in spanish countries is very common to call guys named Enrique as Quique or Kike.
If you help me I would gladly change my name in this forum (also the 924 part should be changed to 964)

This is from wikipedia:
Non-derogatory usage of kike
"Kike" is used as a given name in the Spanish language, in variance with English pronunciation and usage. In Spanish, "Kike" or "Quique" is pronounced /'ki.ke/ and is a diminutive form of "Enrique". Other variations include the relatively uncommon German surnames Kiker or Kyker.

I'd say don't sweat it Enrique. Some people need more things to do to keep themselves busy. If your username was not intended as a slur, it shouldn't be taken as one. That said, if you want to change it, post a message in the Rennlist Member Help forum HERE

Hi Enrique...Kike is pretty common in Brazil as short for "Henrique" as well...I think you are "NOT GUILTY" for hate crimes and stuff...

Dude,

Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. I had never even heard of it until one day in high-school, and I thought it was completely dumb then too. Rock on Kike!

Kike, I wouldn't change it if you like it. Some people just look for things to get offended at. Life is too short to tip toe around every possible situation where someone might get offended. No harm was intended on your part and you have a very good explanation for the name. If anyone gives you any crap about your name in the future, just send them the link to this post.

Why do you need to point out that "porsche" ?
Drop the 924 and or change it to 964 .

It is your name. I wouldn't change my name if it turned out someone somewhere thought it was offensive. I'd imagine there are people that think you shouldn't be able to call yourself Dick if you are named Richard. Or Peter for that matter. Some people might even be offened by the fact that Canadians are called Canadian.

I hope I haven't inadvertently offended anyone on the forum : /

I, for one, was DEEPLY offended by your name. Therefore, could you please change it to one of the following: wop924, limey924, yank924, polack924, ocker924, cracker924, nip924, gringo924, kraut924, argie924, jock924, canuck924, mick924, paddy924, bohunk924, pommy924, spic924, russkie924, taffy924, frog924, etc etc etc.

On the other hand, keep it.

It's your name, to do with as you please, so I wouldn't worry if I were you (apart from that 924 bit!).

madmoog
(hoping that my name has similarly not offened, but hey, who's all there that spends shed loads on "just" a car )
