What's the back-story with your Avatar Image?
I see a lot of interesting avatar images here on Rennlist... and I know each one was chosen for a reason... and I often wonder what that might be... so I am starting a thread for that...
Mine is a photo I took from Oregon's Columbia Gorge. I was on a beautiful rainy day drive with my son out to the Gorge, and this is a shot from Vista House, which was built to commemorate the opening of the Columbia Gorge Highway, back in the '20s. This road is 50 or more miles of switchbacks, stone arch guardrails and overhanging stone outcroppings. Mossy trees and 300' high watefalls, along the mighty Columbia river. The view in the background is miles away.. not sure if you can tell that from this shot...
It is a beautiful road.. and a great time with my son.

That's cool... what a good thread idea too.
Mine is my car on the day I brought it home. It's in my drive and I took the picture to send to my uncle who is a Porschephile as well as to a friend of mine back in Lexington KY who was responsible for my Porsche fixation when he let me borrow his '76 911 when I was in grad school. I often think about how cool my wife was with me getting the 964. She was 5 months pregnant with our first when she encouraged me to go ahead and get the car. I was hesitant because of the new baby and all, but she encouraged me to get the car since I had been shopping for one for years and she thought it was a great color. I know that any number of weekends when she has been a garage widow she has second guessed her judgment.
