The studs are (reasonable) cheap and no special tools are needed.

I have a 9 mm spacer in the rear with 57mm spacers and 4 mm spacers from with 52 mm spacers (stock are 45 mm). There were added d/t tire rub, not cosmetics.

The safest thing to do it not generatize but just buy an open top steel lug nut and install the spacer and wheel then screw the lug nut on to see how much thread is captured and mae sure it is enough.

I tried different spacers and the only ones I felt safe with in the front is 3mm. There wasn't enough hub for the wheel to center on if I went more than 3mm. If you don't mind allowing your studs to support the wheel you can use larger but I wouldn't. I replaced all my studs with longer ones. I highly recommend it and an easy cheap upgrade. I use the 3 mm spacer up front with the 7 x17" cup 1 and a 235 Toyo RA1 for AX and a 15mm bolt on spacer with hub and 9 x17" 275 RA 1 rear. It is more than enough with the larger tire to work. I know the 235 on a 7 is not recommended but this is the same setup Toyo used for the Toyo cup series.

For track use I use the 18"s and these are setup for maximum offset so I don't use any spacers.

Thanks for posting the photo. Looks like enough centering remaining, maybe even enough for a 5mm. I'll have to get my car home to see how much thread I have available and work from there given the BBS wheels.

I'd like to buy a set of 4-5mm spacers (4) if anyone has some they aren't using.

Cheers.

Pete,

Did you change the studs to run the 7mm spacers?

Got any pics of the stance? Is your car lowered?

Thanks
John

I ran 5mm spacers up front on my widebody C4 with no problems using 3.6 Speedlines.

Stock studs, Wheel Enhancement say's no need to change them up to 7mm.

My car is lowered running )E Cup 1's 7's up front and 9's on rear.

Are your spacers hub centering? if not the centering ring on the hub is exactly 7 mm and you will loose the added support needed under hard cornering. All the load is placed on the studs which I would caution doing.

Also 7mm is pushing it without longer studs. An open lug bolt will leave several threads exposed which I would not feel safe doing. I recommend counting the number of turns the lug nuts have with thee spacers vs without.

Just double checked my spacers, they are OE 5mm. They work fine with out longer studs and maintain Hub centric.

Sorry for the confusion.
