They are too tall in that size. If available it would probably translate to 275-35/17. Either way let us know if it works.

Got a set of Cup 1 knockoffs with 275/40's for the back of the RSA. Plenty of track miles on it. I DO use a 10mm spacer to clear the oil lines. And longer wheel studs.

And they were never a problem on the much stiffer sprung RSA #1 race car, but I had some unknown offset custom wheels for that car.

To be honest and IMHO, whoever told you this does not know what they are talking about. The profile is too high as others have said, and I think there are very few standard narrow bodies that can fitr a 275 with *some* issues. In addition, 275's are probably a little wide for 9 inch wide wheels...IMHO.

I run 275 /40 /17 Hoosiers on Cup 1 with a 20 mm spacer - not a problem - think Hoosiers are probably one of the widest tires you can get - So a street tire at 275 should have less width - You will need spacers regardless - but you should be OK - your offset of 55 is just a few (3 mm) more than mine

+1 on what Ken said. I run spacers to clear the oil line, I had to upgrade to the newer flattened oil line. I run RA1. But if my suspension was any softer (I run JIC/Cross), then I would get rubbing on the track. I am on the very edge of what you can squeeze under there.
