Default Wheel spacers

I posted this before but still not sure...
How do I calculate thickness of spacers I add, I have cup 1 and want to fill the arches...any pics with sizes used would help....
I am aware of rolling arches but dont want to have to do this, my lips seem thin anyway and the top from about 10 to 2 (clock) at the front is turned up...is this normal on 90 C2?

Also aware height will make a difference.

Have you got any spacers on the back?

I have 5mm on the back...

Be aware of corner loads too, these are standard OE porsche cups... 255.40.17

When I first got my car which had 9J et 47 rear wheels the PO had put 15 mm spacers on. These were way too much and the tyres hit the arches over the slightest bump. So I ditched them (and saved unsprung weight in the process ). What you can use is dependent on width and offset of the wheels - in my case 15 mm was way too much. 5mm would have been more appropriate.

I run Cup IIs, 9" in the rear ET55 running 255/40/17s. run 21 mm spacers with them. Fill arches nicely now. and the car is lowered

The 21mm really fill the well. What a beautiful car! I menitoned somewhere earlier, I had put 6mm spacers on the rear, they're actually 6.5mm. I still have a lot more well to fill. I thought about thicker spacers, but I didn't want to add studs. So, I found and bought 8mm spacers, that are on the way. I was going to put the 6.5 mm upfront and the 8mm in the rear. After seeing the 21mm, I'm rethinking the scenario. Nice pics!

with no disrespect intended, maybe its just the angle of the shot, but that looks more like 15mm??

EDIT - just seen above post.

As has already been said above, choice of spacer is much more, nay totally, to do with the width and offset of the WHEEL and relatively little to do with the TYRE size.

If you want help deciding what spacer size to use it's imperative that you tell us what width and offset your wheels are, i.e. 9J/ET47. Without that information everything is a guess.

I have cup I replicas, and have put 5mm spacers on the front to prevent rubbing when on full lock. Anything thicker than 7mm require longer bolts.

I have the perfect size spacers available for sale if you are running Genuine cup wheels 7 & 9 with 55 offset. Had them on my car with no issues whatsoever...

They are proper hub-centric spacers with studs etc, not just shims....I can't remember the exact sizes as they are in the garage....

Just get in touch if interested.

Thanks,

Gary

I am using 7 & 9 cup 1's with 3mm spacers up front and 15mm spacers rear. I just purchased a set of 8 x 17" cup is so will need to recalculate when they arrive.

I can fit 275's in the rear without rubbing using these spacers although I have the car lowered as low as it will go with Bilstein HD's and H&R s but I am running about 2 degrees negative camber.
