Ultimate 964R For Sale!....
I can't believe it myself, but yes, I actually have a deposit on something that I would like to have in my garage. That means my loved 964R will have to go...and if it doesn't sell, then don't feel sorry for me...as you may surmise, life doesn't suck getting to drive the R every weekend or so....
I know everyone is going to ask...all I can say is a "new car" is one that my wife says is "OK" to haul a kid or two around in....and the kid hauling was not a consideration when I started the R project, but now it means a tremendous amount to me....
Aggressively priced in accordance to the window of opportunity with the "other" car. A significant piece for the money given the build, performance, rarity and media pedigree of the R. Actually, and hopefully my wife won't see this, but you get the car for "free" and about 40% off the build cost..maybe a bit more. I'm afraid to open the folders and actually put pen to paper. Only thing I would ask is that the buyer put forth his/her best efforts to make the car available for a feature shoot for GTPurely Porsche in late June-early July. I promised them the car and I'd like to stick by that.
PM me for my phone # and you can read a bit on the car in either November '08 Excellence or April '08 911&Porsche World.
Offered at Ninety-Thousand USD for thirty-days (actually a bit less until June 15th)...then the hold on the other car disappears and life goes back to normal...and yes, I consider a +2700lb car w/500 HP "normal"....

Robert, sorry to hear you letting the R go, but congrats (hopefully) on the new ride. He let the cat out of the bag a little when I visited but I won't tell and steal his thunder. Good luck with the sale and new acquisition! Nominally, sounds like a lot of money, but for what you get with the R, well worth it. Would rather have this than a 997 TT any day.

Your always threating to sell that car and never do, Humm last time after it didn't sell you did all the body work, humm this time what is is going to be?
I still think its worthy of a set of center lock titanium 935 hubs and maybe a full factory 935 alloy roll cage to boot !
Factory aluminum doors and hood with center filler would be cool too!

A nice car, but priced well beyond what the market will bare, IMO.
For those of us who've extended ourselves in extensive modifications to the 964, it is accepted that it is for our own enjoyment. Nothing more. We have our fun, don't we? And we pay the price.

This is extremely embarrassing. My apologizes Noah (and to the rest of the Board), had I known I would be so far off the mark, I would have certainly sought-out your expertise before I listed the R....
Unfortunately, I can't go back in time, but do know that I greatly appreciate your input.
BTW Noah....did you stay at a "Holiday Inn Express" last night?

In response to a PM I received: The car passes California Smog w/no issues. It just passed is bi-annual Cali Smog Test in April and has new tags. With the 993TT engine it actually burns cleaner than the 964 3.6. I just take it for a short drive to heat up the 100 cell cats and then put it on the rollers...Also, California has some new evap test that pressurizes the fuel system to see if its leaking to the atmosphere....passed that no problem as well.
