...and a couple more pictures of the progress that I snapped on Saturday after dropping into the shop whilst Marc was busy working, note the door frames & windows are now installed.
Hopefully bumpers will be on, screen fitted and the engine running by the end of this week.

Looking good Colin!
One question, it seems just about the whole world is running around with Cup pipes....and here we have a genuine Cup car fitted with what seems to be a full street exhaust (?) ;-)

We've been struggling to find the time to work on our own stuff this week, however the good news is that Marc found the time to assemble the rear bumper - complete with a new set of inner heat shields:

Took a while, but eventually the bumper found its way onto the car today along with the gear shifter rod & a breather pipe in the tunnel that was damaged during the previous fitting of the fuel cell (which we removed when we got the car).
The last photos in the shop show the prepared shell of the new 9m11RS and the infamous black 9m93RS Widebody.

Marc has been pushing ahead with Kermit inbetween other jobs because we really want to have it ready to display at the RS trackday at Oulton Park next Friday. The oil system is now fitted & filled, the discs have now been replaced and Marc is doing a final fit of the fuel pump ready to fire up the engine.

It lives!!
Roll on through last week to Thursday night, Marc and the lads pressed on after work to fit the front bumper & lights, hook up the electrics and fire up the engine for the first time in over 12 months. But for a minor glitch with slight corrosion on one of the main relay pin it would have burst into life on the first turn of the key. Note that the brake lights are on whilst it is running - apparently we are missing a bush from the brake pedal assembly so the pedal/switch relationship is currently out of adjustment.
Our vinyl man Mike is due to arrive on Monday so with a bit of luck I should be able to post lots of photos of the progress as they are applied.

Once again great job Colin!
Two questions:
A) I see the cup has brake cooling ducts in the fog light position, but I do not see any associated pipework under the front wings leading to the discs. Are these yet to be fitted or did the Cups come with just the holes in the bumper?
B)Something very minor: do you think a 993RS steering rack strenghtening bar would be out of place given its (very small) deviation from originality? I think Porsche fitted this to cope with increased stress caused by the larger wheels on the 993RS so it might not be causing any harm on a cup running slicks.

Both good calls.
Back in 1990 the car would have been built with dummy lights rather than the brake ducts; furthermore it came with 8" & 9.5" x 17" aluminium Cup wheels (not mags or 18") and raced on Pirellis (either P Zero C or slicks?). Since we have no immediate aims to use the car on track the build plan is to just get it back together since we can always change things later.
