Default Opinions on a rare color 964 c4

Hi guys,

I'm looking at a 93 c4 down in NJ. I have not been down to check the car out personally yet, nor have seen it, It sounds to be a well sorted example of a 964.
All service records, no accidents, low mileage. Recent good ppi done by owner

The only concern I have about the car is the color which is not very common. I'm not sure if I will like it or not in person. The owner said the color is Wimbeldon green.

What are you folks opinions? Anyone see one up close? Seems like a metallic turquoise.

Thanks for the help.

Default C4

I have seen this color on a 91 3.3L Turbo--an acquired taste IMHO. Looks like beige/tan interior which is not bad--the turbo had grey. BTW, side markers and front bumper cover carrier leads me to believe this may be a "Euro" version vs. U.S.--may want to confirm this in advance.

964 series featured a select number of high grade metallics (the color you are looking at, plus others like rubystone red, ameythest, raspberry red, which i have & a few others). you either like them or not....they are attention getters and as my wife says basically every porsche is either sliver, black or white.

these paints are of exceptional depth and have a lot of highlights.....color changes depending on light (mine goes from bergundy to merlot to pink rose...) like i said its a total committment color not for mr. everyman.....wimdledongen gruen is a wonderful color, and rare....highly regarded

if you want to pursue the car, this will give you a sense of the metallics

I have a black and a white Porsche. I really would have like to have found a "off" color one during my searches

It's a great color, I don't think it's very turquoisey in person.

I'm another oddball color fan (though having silver, red, and yellow in the 993/964 stable right now you wouldn't know it). I wouldn't pass on it if you're a serious buyer and all the other criteria point to it being a good car/right price.

I've seen this one in person. Perhaps you've seen it in on rsamerica.net, as well? The owner refers to it as Turquoise but it's Wimbeldon.

It just comes down to personal taste--either you love it or you don't.

I think any unusual color, as long as not offensive, is a plus in a classic car. I also like this color, especially with a tan interior.

Saw a Wimbledon Green 993 once. I think it is a beautiful color which looks good in pictures but even better in person.
