That's my thinking also...just 8 more years until I get my MK1 GT3!

Thank you to whoever is out there "currently" owns my future GT3...please no more than 1,000 miles per year, and keep that climate controlled garage shut.

Mk 1 GT3? Are there more than a handful of those that have been individually imported? (Friend had one circa 2001 when he was back in England, thought about federalizing it and bringing it back, but had no regrets when he bought his '04 and saw how much better it was.)

But if you DO mean an '04 US car, then consider how the depreciation sweet spot has always seemed to hit 911s. They seem to be cheapest just out of warranty, and for another 2-3 years past that. Has pretty much been that way since I've been involved with these cars over the past 30 years.

Sorry, meant 997 GT3 MK1.
That said, I've seen some very nice 996 GT3 MKIIs already. They sound so mean and I hear the driving experience is very raw. I will definitely compare well looked-after 996 Gt3s during my 997 GT3 search. Again this is years down the road, but I'm laying the foundation now...

Good info. and that matches what I've found also.

I just have to be patient...my car is out there waiting for me to find it. Hopefully the "current" owner is limiting its mileage and keeping the door to the climate-controlled garage shut!

Maybe we can all put our money together and take turns driving this awesome car.

I'm not sure if I see this car being worth more than $260k or even close to that in the near or far future. Again, it is hard to predict the future value for any P-car, but this doesn't strike me as a collectors dream. For the money, I would purchase something like the GT3RS, GT2RS or even two cars as some of the members have suggested with money left over. As far as purchasing an automobile in hopes of achieving 1973 Carrera RS status in the future, maybe a nice stock 964RS? GT2RS? CGT? Panamera V6??

Cash out the kids college fund as this baby was in the neighborhood of $260K USD - OUCH!
If you could afford it, keep the 964 and buy this car.

I love it too.

One of the P-car guys I know up here has bought one of the 3 or 4 coming to Australia.

Nice but there's a few other things I'd buy for the money!
