Default RS Recreation project, now for sale :(

Hi all, have owned this for a few months now, so thought that I'd get some photos up.
My 66,000 mile, 3 owner, non sunroof, Guards Red 964
How I purchased the car:

The underside required a little "detailing" so I busted out the jetwash and began cleaning:

More pics to follow shortly

Hi Si, I read about your project and I am looking forward in seeing the end result and hearing about the costs!

Wire free doors is a great idea!

But some serious lowering would be my first priority.

Default Rear lights

Used a rear red light film to sort out the pinkness. While I had the lights off the car I detailed a little more:

Looking good Si! Im sure you will do wonders with this car like the other cars you've done. Always remembered your yellow mk1 golf then seeing your blue 911 3.2 at the Reading show. Nice!

I hope your well, im not sure if your still keeping up with the Vdub thing, your not missing much having spoke to Elliot (PVW) the other day. He himself is watching us, as he has a Porker himself! yeah Elliot

I like the Lens touch! As these are'nt cheap and facing these pinky lens again on my other 964, this may be the plan;-) To tell you the truth, I was disappoint when i bought my new set of lens 1st time round, as the used ones were'nt far off from the new ones!!!!

Hello mate, yes I'm loving the 964. Have also been keeping an eye on the progress on your car, absolutely love it, although haven't seen a photo of it with the new wheels? Have done loads more on the car, will get a few more images up here soon.

Still into my VWs but nothing water-cooled at present, only a US import '66 Cal-Look Beetle which is getting some serious treatment.

I too looked at new rear lights and reflector, but refused to part with the cash when I saw how pink they were, hence the film treatment, $60 well spent!

All else good, I'd like to see more progress on your car. I'm lovin' the VW guys getting into Porsches, not sure if the purists approve though, I think we're a little too extreme for them...

Cheers
Si

Aero Mirrors (no peeping inside the car please) and (temporary) Eibach springs fitted:

Headlight washer jets removed and RS door wire grommets in place:

Also removed the large inner wing mounted washer bottle, I have re-plumped so now only have the under bonnet 1 litre bottle.
AC radiator & fan (and all behind bumper and inner wing mounted AC ancillaries) sympathetically removed.
Fog lights removed, just deciding on which ducts to fit...

Progress coming on strong there Si!

My car has been sitting in the garage since it came back from the Nurburg. trip and not had a chance to get the door trims and the carpet from MJ. Hopefully will get a chance once she goes for her MOTd, but the distractions from my other 964 and my daily Audi has put a stop to the white angel.

Ive decided the new wheels will go on new 964 project, but things such as colour, the kind of mods just keep on changing from week to week.

66 huh! cool, but some serious hours and resto needed on these oldies! I just love the stuff that comes out from '1 on 1' or 'Trailer queen restos'.

Hey Si, keep up with the 964, will talk to you soon and ask for your help!

Catch u later

Great work Si77

Are you weighing the items you take off? Would be great to get a definitive list of the weight saved with this project.

I love project pics, as you always get to see things you never normally look at

Thanks
