It's a while since I changed mine but something does not look right here.

Aftermarket wheels need to be fitted to an appropriate boss. Did that boss in the pictures come with the new wheel? When you remove the boss have you got the horn contact copper tab fitted in the indicator assembly?

See this thread for details of the horn contact (#7 in the first diagram) on the indicator assembly:

Yes, I bought the wheel from porscheshop.co.uk and it was supplied with the boss.

The horn buttons were already wired and it looked like a plug & play install.

I'll get it apart over the weekend and check what is on the back of the boss with the contacts.

Did you install the horn contact - Porsche horn contact 964.652.104.00

From the pictures I can't see it under the hub. Item#7 in the first picture of this thread

I'm not sure. I never bought that part separately, so unless it was supplied with the wheel, then I guess not.

I'll grab some better pics over the weekend after I take off the hub.

The horn contact would have to be bought seperate. Once the hub is off you will see its missing.

Quick update ... got the horns working today.

I removed the steering wheel and hub.

The hub supplied with the OMP wheel from porscheshop.co.uk had the brass/copper contact ring on the back of the hub.

As per martin964's advice, the problem was that the copper piece on the contact connection was not bent out far enough. I twisted the piece outwards so that it touched the hub connection.

To connect the blue earth wire, I joined a small piece of wire to the blue wire connection ring just pushed the wire down the steering shaft.

Low tone horn was fixed with some dodgy soldering and correct adjustment of the horn adjustment screw/bolt.

All is perfect now. Thanks
