Found it in a classified ad. At 8.5 k even if it needs a complete engine rebuild it seemed like an ok price. Need a new ignition starter so didn't get to the point of seeing if it actually turns over today but first impressions weren't too bad. The dip stick showed no oil in car but don't know if that's expected if it's all in the reservoir. A few long nights ahead of me next week I think

Maybe detach the half of your airbox and use some alcohol spray or whatsoever to get the engine running after you get the fuel pump running again.

I have no idea how sensitive these fuelpumps are, but can't you use a small hammer to losen it up if you are sure it is locked up inside? Other wise maybe use an air compressor or something to get it moving.

I am very interested how the seals will hold up. Also I would most definetly change the oil and ALL the gas before I would try starting it, also replacing the gas filter on the right side of the engine bay.

And check the distributors once you get it going. Are they already vented?

Also the brake fluid I think should be thought of for replacing before driving it hard. Also driving with more than 10 year old tires on these cars is not a good idea when you put the pedal to the metal.

changed the gas, have a new set of tires.. gotta wait for monday for parts to arrive so its just gonna have to sit there for a bit.. im hopeful a full rebuild isnt required but time will tell.

indeed, this 964 is in for a good second life seeing the stable.

I would maybe check ( If you not already did this) ofr oil in the cilinders. Never heard of this before, but if this can happen with 10 years standing still I would sure check it.
